Once, there was a challenging task of providing a Door-to-Door Robot Delivery service at an apartment complex, which needed an Elevator API integration with our RaaS platform. By using his problem-solving skills, combined with his technical excellence, he managed to deliver a perfect solution in a short period of time. Kudos on that!
What truly sets Gyedong apart, however, is his outstanding soft skills. He possesses the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely, fostering seamless collaboration within the team and also in team-to-team communication. I had the pleasure of working with Gyedong on various projects as a Frontend developer. Throughout our collaboration, Gyedong consistently demonstrated not only exceptional technical skills but also a positive and collaborative energy that greatly benefited the team.
A proactive and independent developer Gyedong approaches every task with initiative and a strong sense of responsibility. He identifies areas for improvement and independently proposes effective solutions. For instance, when our global path planning algorithm for autonomous robots faced performance issues in larger regions, Gyedong explored various solutions and successfully implemented PostgreSQL’s pgRouting extension. This improved path planning times from 3 seconds to 0.2 seconds, enabling the service to scale effectively. This achievement underscored his problem-solving abilities and technical expertise.
Thorough and detail-oriented Gyedong is meticulous in his work and ensures comprehensive documentation before starting any development. This approach helps identify potential gaps or improvements early in the planning stage, facilitating smoother collaboration with PO, PD, and Frontend teams. His ability to analyze challenges from multiple perspectives enhances team discussions and broadens our collective problem-solving approach. Additionally, his clear and logical explanations make it easy for others to understand complex issues, fostering effective communication across the team.
A responsible and positive team player Gyedong takes full ownership of his responsibilities. On one occasion, when the backend team faced temporary staffing challenges, he single-handedly managed backend tasks for two weeks. Despite the time constraints due to frequent meetings and cross-departmental requests, he successfully delivered the project on schedule. His positive attitude throughout the process motivated the team and created a supportive work environment.

I had the pleasure of working with Gyedong as a senior backend developer, and I can confidently say he is one of the most reliable and detail-oriented professionals I’ve worked with.

He voluntarily takes on high-friction work such as platform request handling—often responding during late nights or weekends—to ensure service stability and team reliability. Beyond traditional backend development, Gyedong has demonstrated exceptional versatility in integrating hardware-level systems and map-based data infrastructures. He led the development of backend systems that interface with a wide range of devices, including:

He initiated team-wide health check-ins and regular review sessions, helping to build a transparent and healthy feedback culture. This has greatly enhanced our team’s cohesion and effectiveness.
Beyond his own responsibilities, Gyedong is passionate about helping others grow. He has hosted internal API best practices and Slack automation seminars, which have directly contributed to improving workflows not only within our team but across other departments as well. His efforts have led to a more decentralized and scalable process environment.
Gyedong also drives a growth-oriented developer culture by frequently sharing new development ideas and recommended technical books. His initiative in launching a Slack request workflow helped centralize request channels, improve task visibility, and streamline our overall process.

I had the pleasure of working with Gyedong as a frontend developer.
He is a backend engineer and team lead who brought significant positive changes to our team and had a profound impact on me personally.
From a technical perspective, he’s a senior developer with deep expertise who consistently offered valuable insights and diverse solutions. Collaborating with him made my work much more effective and efficient.
One particularly impressive example of his contributions was how he tackled inefficiencies in our workflow. Because we were a robotics company, testing new features often required taking robots outdoors for field tests, which consumed a lot of time. To solve this, he developed a virtual robot that could move to any location in real time, saving the entire team substantial time and resources.
Beyond his technical skills, he has outstanding soft skills. Whether working with frontend developers or other teams, he communicated clearly and adapted his explanations to his audience rather than speaking purely from a developer’s perspective. It was an honor to collaborate with him as part of the Planning & Control team within the Autonomy division. While his capabilities span many areas, what I admire most is his leadership. Although I was not part of his team, I could clearly see from the outside that he was leading his team in an inspiring and admirable way.
He consistently follows the latest technology trends, experiments with them firsthand, and shares practical insights with his team. What impressed me was not just the act of sharing information, but the way he cultivated a learning culture—selecting books to read together with his team, sharing meaningful quotes and articles, and creating opportunities for intellectual growth in daily work life.
